Harriet secures employment after apprenticeship

Congratulations to Harriet, who has secured a permanent position as an Accounts Administrator with a local civil engineering company following the successful completion of her apprenticeship with North Ayrshire Council.
Harriet joined the Council's Housing Team in August 2025 as a Business and Administration Apprentice, where she gained valuable experience working in a busy professional environment. Throughout her apprenticeship, she developed a range of essential workplace skills, including administration, organisation, communication and customer service.
As she approached the end of her apprenticeship, Harriet participated in dedicated pre-exit mentoring support, designed to help apprentices prepare for their next career step. During this period, she worked on strengthening her CV, identifying and promoting her transferable skills, completing a personal SWOT analysis, and improving her job application and interview techniques.
Like many jobseekers, Harriet faced challenges along the way and experienced a number of unsuccessful applications and interviews. However, her determination, resilience and positive attitude never wavered. She continued to build on her experience, take on board feedback and actively pursue new opportunities.
Her hard work and perseverance have now paid off, with Harriet successfully securing a role as an Accounts Administrator, allowing her to take the skills and experience gained through her apprenticeship into a new industry and continue her professional development.
Harriet's journey is a fantastic example of how apprenticeships can provide valuable skills, confidence and progression opportunities for young people entering the workforce.
Congratulations, Harriet, on this fantastic achievement. We wish you every success in your new role and future career.
